This page shows how your Pixieset setup carries over, what’s different, and what Tellisto doesn’t do yet. I wrote it, and I’m the one who’ll help you move. There’s no form and no sales call. You can run both side by side on the free plan and decide for yourself.

Why photographers look for a Pixieset alternative.
Pixieset is a capable, popular tool, and if it’s working for you, stay. Photographers who look for an alternative usually name one of three reasons. They sell through a free account and lose a cut of every sale. Their client-facing pages carry someone else’s badge until they pay to remove it. Or their business runs from Australia or New Zealand, and the invoicing, tax and payment options never quite fit. If none of those is your problem, this page probably isn’t for you. If one of them is, read on.
The facts box
Two differences in how the plans work. On Pixieset’s free plan, store sales carry a 15 per cent commission and galleries carry Pixieset branding. Both go away on paid plans, which is fair enough (it’s their model). Tellisto works differently: zero commission and full white-labelling on every plan, including free. We charge for storage, live galleries and custom domains, never for white-labelling. (Pixieset facts verified 31 August 2026 against their published pricing. They can change them any time, so check their pricing page for the current numbers.)
What maps to what
How your Pixieset setup maps to Tellisto.
- Collections become galleries. Each delivered shoot is a gallery, organised into sets (getting ready, ceremony, reception). It goes out on one link that opens fast on a phone. You get layout presets, client favourites and control over downloads. You can edit a gallery after delivery, with versions you can roll back. Galleries stay live for as long as you keep them, with no inactivity clock.
- Download PINs become PINs, plus properly private galleries. Your galleries aren’t indexed by search engines, private or not, and only people with the link can find them. You can add a PIN to anything on top of that. For sensitive work, mark a gallery Private, which shows no cover image and no preview at all when the link is shared. That works on every plan.
- Studio Manager becomes the built-in back-office. Leads, clients, bookings, packages and invoices aren’t a separate product on a separate bill. They’re in the same app as the galleries, all linked to one client record. Invoices are GST-correct Australian tax invoices that handle ABN and NZBN details. PayID and bank transfer are built in as proper ways to get paid, not an afterthought.
- Your website stays your website. Tellisto doesn’t build websites. It gives your existing site a branded enquiry form, plus a bio-link page for Instagram. Enquiries go into a simple pipeline, and each one gets an instant reply in your words.
- Storage works differently. Free gives you 20 GB and two live galleries. Pro gives you 1 TB and unlimited live galleries. When a client chooses to keep a gallery long-term through the Client Vault, they pay for that storage and it stops counting against yours. On Pro you also earn about half of every renewal.
What’s missing
What Tellisto doesn’t do yet.
There is no print store yet, no built-in website builder, no video hosting and no slideshows. Camera raw upload is on the roadmap for Pro but not shipped. Today uploads take JPEG, PNG and WebP. If your business depends on selling prints through the gallery, Pixieset’s store is good and you may be better off where you are. Or run both, which the free plan makes cheap to do. What Tellisto does is the whole job around the gallery: the enquiry, the booking, the GST invoice, the delivery and the follow-up, all under your name.
The move itself
How the move goes.
- Day one: deliver something new. Brand your studio, which takes about ten minutes, and deliver your next shoot through Tellisto. Nothing about your Pixieset account changes.
- Week one: bring your current clients. The clients with active work or likely rebooks come across first, with their history. Send us your exports and we’ll do it with you.
- At your pace: the back catalogue. Older galleries re-upload from your own archive whenever a client needs them again, or in one sitting if you want it done. There’s no deadline, because there’s no trial clock.
- Whenever you’re sure: cancel the old bill. Last step, not first. You should never have to switch everything in one go, and this way you don’t.

Questions about switching from Pixieset
Do I have to move everything at once?
No, and you shouldn't. On the free plan you can run Tellisto alongside Pixieset without cancelling anything. Deliver one new shoot through Tellisto, see how it feels, and move the rest at whatever pace suits you. There's no trial clock forcing the decision.
Will my old Pixieset gallery links break?
Not because of us. Galleries you've delivered on Pixieset stay wherever Pixieset keeps them, under their rules. The usual pattern is to deliver new work on Tellisto from day one and bring older galleries across when a client needs them again, or all at once if you'd rather be done with it.
Can you bring my clients and invoices across?
Your client list, yes, and you can do it yourself. Export your contacts from Pixieset, then open Clients → Import in Tellisto and choose Pixieset. Your clients and leads come across in one go. Galleries go up from the finished files in your own archive, and your Pixieset invoices stay in the export as your records. If you get stuck, email me or use the help button in the app. While Tellisto is small, the person answering is me.
Do my photos re-upload from Pixieset or from my archive?
From your archive. You own the originals, so the cleanest move is to upload the finished files you already keep. Pulling web-sized copies back out of another platform gives you a worse version. Uploads take a whole shoot at once and keep running in the background while you set up the rest.
What does Tellisto cost compared to what I pay now?
Two plans, in AUDNZD: a free plan (20 GB, two live galleries at a time, not a cut-down version, zero commission), and Pro at $79 a month with 1 TB and unlimited live galleries. The first twenty-five photographers lock in $25 for as long as they keep their subscription. The pricing page has the full detail, including how the Client Vault pays you a share of every gallery your clients keep.
What will my clients notice?
Your name, on all of it. Galleries, emails and the enquiry form carry your studio's branding on every plan, including free. They also sit at your own studio address. Your clients see your studio, not Tellisto.
