Switching
A ShootProof alternative priced by storage, not by photo count.
ShootProof does more than most gallery platforms, and this page won’t pretend otherwise. There are two real differences: what your bill is counted in, and which country’s tax system your invoices were built for.
Nothing here asks you to cancel anything. Bring one shoot and see.
What’s the same
Two things that are not differences.
Comparison pages often open by inventing a gap. Two of the obvious gaps don’t exist here, and you would find that out in five minutes anyway.
ShootProof is not just galleries. Their plans include contracts, invoices, client booking and a portfolio website. So the argument that carries our other switching pages, one product instead of two, does not apply to you. If you are on ShootProof you already have most of a studio system.
And they do not take commission either. Commission-free selling is on their plans, the same as ours. Anyone comparing the two of us on that is comparing two products that agree.
The facts box
Checked against ShootProof’s pricing page on 31 August 2026, in US dollars plus applicable taxes. Five tiers, and the thing to notice is the unit: they are counted in photos. Free is 100 photos, then 1,500 at $10.99 a month billed annually or $12.99 monthly, then 5,000 at $19.99 or $21.99, then 25,000 at $26.67 or $31.99, then unlimited at $50 or $60. A storage figure sits beside each as an estimate. Photos beyond your plan are archived for a fee. There is a 14-day trial and a free plan.
Tellisto counts storage, not frames. 20 GB on free, 1 TB on Pro, and no limit on how many photos that works out to. Their numbers can change any time, so check their pricing page for the current ones.
The first real difference
What your bill is counted in changes how you shoot.
When a plan is counted in photos, every extra frame you deliver moves you closer to a bigger bill. Deliver an extra hundred frames from the reception and you are a hundred closer to the next tier, however small the files are. That is an odd thing to have in the back of your mind while you cull.
When storage is what’s counted, the only question is how much room you are using. A 900-frame wedding and a 30-frame headshot session each use the allowance according to their file size. The number of photos doesn’t come into it. On Pro the allowance is 1 TB. A gallery a client keeps through the Client Vault stops counting against it entirely, because the client pays for that storage.
Neither model is unfair. They reward different habits, so it helps to know which one your plan is pushing you towards.
The second real difference
Whose tax system the invoices were built for.
ShootProof is a US product, priced in US dollars, and its invoicing is built for a market that has never filed a BAS. Tellisto starts from the local paperwork instead.
- Australia. GST is rounded the way the ATO specifies. Your ABN is checked against the register, so your registration status is right from the first invoice. Invoices are numbered in sequence per studio and carry the recipient identity details a B2B tax invoice over $1,000 needs.
- New Zealand. 15%, your IRD number on every tax invoice, and the NZ$60k threshold wording.
- How you get paid. PayID and bank transfer are built in as proper ways to get paid, not an afterthought behind card. Payments go straight into your account and nothing passes through us. Card works too, through your own Stripe account.
Where they do better
Where ShootProof is the better tool.
- Selling. A print store with lab fulfilment, price sheets and email marketing campaigns. Tellisto has no print store.
- Mobile gallery apps. They deliver your photos as a branded app on the client’s phone. Tellisto delivers a web gallery, which is fast on a phone but is not the same thing.
- A portfolio website. Theirs builds you one. Tellisto doesn’t build websites, by choice. That means you keep paying for your site elsewhere.
- More than one of you. Their plans carry multiple users and multiple brands. A Tellisto account today is one studio and one person.
- Phone support. They offer one-to-one phone support. Tellisto is one person answering his own email.
- They market gallery expiry reminders as a sales tool. Their own site describes emailing clients with “gallery expiration reminders”. For photographers who sell on urgency, that works. Tellisto has nothing like it, because Tellisto galleries do not expire. If you rely on deadlines to drive sales, you would be giving that up.
Here is what Tellisto doesn’t do at all yet: no print store, no website builder, no video hosting, no slideshows. Camera raw upload is on the roadmap for Pro and not shipped, so uploads take JPEG, PNG and WebP today.

This page helps you choose. The guide covers the move itself. It lists which exports to pull out of ShootProof, in what order, and what has no export button at all. It also shows how to set up your live work in Tellisto before you cancel anything.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about switching from ShootProof
How different is Tellisto from ShootProof?
Less different than the other products we compare on this site. ShootProof already does contracts, invoices and booking, so this isn't a case of one product replacing two. The differences that matter are what your plan is counted in, and which country's tax system the invoices were built for.
What do you mean about being metered on photos?
ShootProof's plans are counted in photos: 100, then 1,500, then 5,000, then 25,000, then unlimited. So your bill tracks how many frames you deliver rather than how much room you use. Tellisto counts storage instead: 20 GB on free and 1 TB on Pro, with no cap on the number of photos. If you deliver generously, the two models pull in different directions.
Do you take commission on sales like some platforms?
No, and neither do they, so this isn't a point of difference between us. ShootProof lists commission-free sales on their plans. Tellisto takes zero commission on every plan including free. Anyone comparing us on that is comparing two products that agree.
What about GST and Australian invoices?
This is the real gap. ShootProof is a US product billing in US dollars. Tellisto handles Australian and New Zealand GST properly. In Australia it rounds GST the way the ATO specifies and checks your ABN against the register. In New Zealand it charges 15% and shows your IRD number. Invoices carry the recipient details a B2B tax invoice over $1,000 needs, and PayID and bank transfer are built in as proper ways to get paid.
Do my galleries stay up?
In Tellisto, they stay up for as long as you keep them. No plan has an inactivity clock or takes galleries offline behind your back, including free. The free plan limits how much is live at once, not how long anything lasts.
What does it cost?
A free plan with 20 GB and two live galleries, or Pro at $79 a month with 1 TB and unlimited live galleries, in AUDNZD. The pricing page has the detail, including the Client Vault revenue share.
Bring one shoot and see.
